escort 8500 refurbished?

So ive been reading around on hear and have noticed a majority of people saying the 8500 is the best (if not overall at least for the money). and then after doing some searching i found a seller who has a bunch of refurbished ones for only 150 bucks with 6 month warranty and a two week period where you can send it back no questions asked! now im wondering if this is the one ive read about because if its not, i want to get the best one possible (cant get a ticket) and will just save more money instead of getting this.

heres the link

wow i didnt realize that seller was in ohio, but i am in no way associated with him in case someone notices that (im in columbus anyway)

Get a used v1, way better than escort. Arrows FTMFW!!!! and v1 has the option to upgrade hardware and firmware for older V1 models.

I used to have an 8500 x50.. traded it for a valentine 1

I think the 8500 is a bit more modern, though the v1 is better at what it's made to do. i think nowadays i'd shoot for the 9500 though.. seems like it'd be very nice to have

I haven't gotten a ticket yet for the four years i've used it. And that's with the regular 8500.

someday you should drive through worthington and you would see why you would want one. I do tend to go quick on occasion and itd be nice to know when to slow down but also around my neighborhood its good to know when theres a cop spying on you because they will ticket you and/or harass you for any tiny reason they can find. (when i was about 14 my mom got pulled over in her minivan because according to his radar gun she slowed to about 0.2 mph or some BS at a stop sign)

Going 5 over, a cop wont pull you over unless he's having a bad day. Having a radar/laser detector and going 10+ over doesn't mean squat. You're still going to get pulled over. You guys might not realize but the police technology is ahead of most radar/laser detectors. Its an arms race.

And yes, I have driven threw Worthington, in my Evo even. I don't drive like a jerk. Have I been pulled over just to be pulled over - yep. Cops are curious (they are people too). Some just like to know what the car is (since mine was number/stickered up).

And that is why its my ADVICE. You want to speed, you think a radar detector will save your butt - go right ahead.

Point is to get the newest technology in a radar detector, sure you may have an $80 dollar cobra detector and never gotten a ticket but I haven't had one for 3 years now and in that time span have sped and haven't gotten a ticket. Guess I'm just lucky so far.

I have the passport 8500 x50 and the passport laser shifters. I recently took a 6000 mile cross country roadtrip and it's saved my *** at least 5 times 3-4 time by radar and once by laser.

The only time I was stopped was when I did not have it on and passed a cop going the opposite direction going 35 in a 25 zone. I got off with a warning.
