Any body drive a gutted evo on the street?
Weight reduction is greatly help on:
-acceleration
-quickness
-handling
-breaking
-fuel economy
Basically makes the car much more nimble.

How much did you get it for? That thing still drives just fine.
I've thought about it (just removed audio and all wires) and I know it will eventually happen but every other car I've owned I've gutted(and was still street driven) so I'll wait awhile longer on the Evo. I'm a fan of a pure driving experience some people just aren't.
I have learned my lesson with pulling out A/C out of any car ever again. This past year I got to drive my talon to the shootout, and of course I pulled out the A/C because of a locked up unit. Well needless to say it was hot all week long, and the drive home was misurable. I got rain half way back to Michigan and humidity was through the roof. I will not pull the A/C out of the evo when i get it thats for sure. Seriously think twice about how much you use it on hot days, or sitting in traffic on hot days and you will be supprised how it does come in handy.
I think the definition of 'Ricey' is more along the lines of Gaudy, Heavy, SLOW, and UGLY...
IMHO, I don't believe an Evo fails under any of those descriptions, gutted or not...
Well, there are some guys who still tack on slightly outrageous body kits or odd colored interior trim pieces, but for the most part Evo's stay about as un-ricey as a car from Japan can get!
Before you do any of that with your car, you may want to give me the $150 you have been promising me over and over since you sold me a damaged turbo. Not to mention you keep telling me money is tight, yet you talk about making these big purchases. Why don't you square your deals away first.
Dont gut the car, if its not a drag car than do not do it!!! for a few reasons, its too loud with a full interior, its ****ing ugly as hell, and you wont feel the difference from a few pounds so if you want to make your car lighter just do some suspension work and exterior work.

LOL
