YAY !!!!! GTI's are SLOW anyways and you can never hook up once increase to a lot of power . Thanks for not downgrading.

that's a horrible thought...like a bad nightmare. i had a jetta, bought it brand new and sold it in less than a year. did basic bolt-ons and had an apr chip, and that thing was slow as mud. not to mention, vw has a lot of electrical issues. you ever wonder why they only have a 3 year warranty.

You would be going from a scalpel to an appliance. I do not care for the GTI in the least.

I doubt that I'd trade mine in, but the thought has crossed my mind to "downgrade" to a GTI. I think it would be a less dangerous family vehicle, while still being "fun".

Personally my family's safety is placed above my need for "fun." That is not to say the Evo isn't a safe car but I have other choices in vehicles with more passive/active safety features for that piece of mind.

But since you've already decided I guess my point is moot...

I think I will flip-flop on this decision numerous times in the future, especially as time goes on.

It's not something to be taken lightly. The Evo makes me do some stupid things sometimes.
