Cdplayer not working properly

hey everyone

recently my cdplayer has been acting up- sometimes it will play the cd fine, other times it will take a few attempts to get it to work. and more recently it started making a funny noise.

my question to all of you:

since i have a few mods installed, would it be a bad idea to take my car to the dealership to get serviced and risk having them discover my mods?

would they even look under the hood to fix the cdplayer?

also do i have to go specifically to the dealership where i bought the car? or am i covered by the warranty to get serviced at any mitsu dealer.

Unless you have direct port nitrous injection on your stereo, your warranty still covers your radio. Your powertrain warrenty is another matter... Any Mitsu dealer should be able to handle it.

oh, im not saying i think they are going to void my warranty on the radio because of the mods--- i dont want the dealership to know i have mods to begin with - in case i have to get something serviced in the future and return my car back to stock

Then, you just have to ask yourself. Is it worth the hassle of pulling everything off your car, or at you at the point of no return and aren't concerned about your powertrain anymore? Or do you just go down to Best Buy and get yerself the $299 special and have a new CD player put in? Or do you just drive X miles to another dealership and hope they don't share notes?

Which of those options are the least time/money/hassle?

yea good point.. im just thinking though.. im fine with the stock stereo as im mainly interested in the evo's performance.. i could care less about a "phat" stereo system that would just weigh the car down like some ppl.. i know the 299 special isnt gonna weigh it down- im just making the point that- i dont want to spend money on the car for a stereo when i could be buying mods for it .

im fine with the stock radio and it should work properly. i wish they could just fix it and not look at my engine lol

but who knows if they would...

First they cannot void any such warranties on ur car, second is the cd burned.... The Evo deck is having major lock up issues with copied cd's and dealers are well aware of it. Basicly it doesn't play copied ones

actually i dont think ive had any problems with burned cds funny enuf. all the times when it started doin it was with real albums.

once again, i dont think they are going to void my warranty because of my mods-- im wondering if there's a chance they will find out about my mods while repairing my radio.

hmmm.. i may just take up some of you who are offering me their stock head units.. keep the prices coming guys!
