Thanks for good advise and uplifting comments guys! Right now shes just sitting in the garage waiting for the police report to get through to the insurance company. You know after the accident, I was the only one able to drive away to a parking lot where a tow truck could bring me home. The other three cars needed to be towed on the spot.

I feel for you man. This is week three without my car due to rear end accident. Sucks too because the insurance is giving me a hard time since I have AAA and the person that hit me has AAA, so I have nobody on my side trying to get me every last dime like it would hvae been if a person using another company hit me.

I had the same thing happen to me several months back. I was sitting at a light with an SUV behind me. As the lights about to turn green, I get rear ended. Im like WTF!, get out, see that some lady in a charger had pushed the SUV into me. Come to find out, the charger lady was the relative of a relative of the in-laws. Turns out she "accidentally" took one too many blood pressure pills that morning and blacked out while driving. However her story on the police report was there was lots of traffic and she came up on us abruptly. I dont see why the cop bought that considering that there were no other cars in sight, and the road was a straight line with a slight up hill where she should have seen us from 1/4 mile away.

In any case I got minor damage and ended up just getting a check from the insurance. After I cleaned it you can barely tell its there. Luckily no one was hurt.

Wow, that is some serious misfortune man. One would figure things would be easier if two drivers had the same insurance, but I guess they still want to give you a hard time. It must be super hard without your car,,, its never the same without it

Im glad everything turned out ok and no one was hurt man. It sucks that we take take care of our cars so much, and in a split second, even at a stoplight, it can all change.

Sounds like how I got my evo! Some guy rear ended me on the beltway. He said he didn't see my brake lights and hit me probably going ~50mph. He hit the car so hard my glasses flew off my face and bent my spare tire well. This was on an OZ Lancer.

i also had my first accident as a rear ended one. Most of the damage to my car was hidden. It crushed the crash beam, the trunk, trunk floor. Took about 5 months to get it back cause the trunk floor took a while to get form Japan. This was in 07'.

Insurance company said I can get after market parts I just need to pay the difference. SO I got a CF trunk and JDM bumper and paid just $100 bucks for both. I think I got a good deal....

But now my car really can't be sold for a decent amount of money cause of the accident but also cause I have 60K in mods dumped into it.

damn rear ends sucks! my prelude has been rear ended and that was my one and only accident. why cant people be more attentive??!?!? the girl that rear ended me was texting her friend. Same situation, i was at a stop light, about to turn green and *boom* my bumper looked as straight as a wall thanks to a nissan xterra. GOOD luck and be safe everyone!

Had something similiar happen to me when I had my 3rd gen eclipse. There was a huge cruise for a guy that died in a motorcycle accident on one of the main roads. I didn't mean to be in this cruise but I ended up right in the middle of it. Well naturally people started acting stupid and speeding away from stop lights ect.... Anyway I was giving the guy in front of me a car or 2 when all of the sudden a ford probe cuts me off and then slams his brakes on to avoid the guy infront of him. I slammed my brakes on but the guys behind me weren't able to stop in time. It was a 4 car pile up, an integra ended up on a civic and the truck that hit us all was all smashed up. The civic that hit me and had the integra on it was all smashed up and leaking fluid all over. The clipse had a little scrape on her bumper haha. I drove away while everyone else had to get towed. Turned out the guy that got the at fault ticket didn't have insurance so I had to pay the money to repaint my bumper. Thought it was funny how all the other cars were in such bad shape and it looked like I got scraped by a shopping cart or something.
