man that sucks! i got hit in the same spot a few months ago.

I had a sort of simular experience. On a cold january morning i was driving to a job site in Edison NJ, im driving my work van a 2006 Ford Econoline 250 extended...iam at a stop light on RT 1 drinking my DD coffe. I hear screetching brakes and BOOMMM, and a smaller boom.
The first boom was a 98 civic rammed up again rear bumper, the second boom was his huge grey primed ricer APC wing that flew off his trunk and hit my back doors....civic was DONE i wish I still had the pics, his wing cracked into like 5 pcs when it hit my back doors. My bumper had a little dent on the it, doors had few little dings.

 

Thats sucks. Same thing happened to be 5months after I got mine. A girl who was texting while driving rear ended me. Just take it to a good body shop and it will look just like the day you got it. Its going to be a few weeks without the evo. Good luck.

glad you and others are ok, jdm bumper and taillights is a ++, dont know about a cf trunk, I'm not a fan of cf trunk

I hope I get rear ended one of these days. My bumber already has a dent in it and that would fix it up nicely. I could use a new one. Haha.

 

I hope you don't get JDM bumper to replace the damaged one especially after having a rear ended collision, imagine what if your JDM bumper got hit?

 

this is true ^ , after the accident i didn't want to get the jdm bumper anymore because i couldn't trust that it would stay safe, but if insurance pays for it i might as well get it. The jdm bumper makes the evo look super sexy from behind,
