Ok, I adjusted them but i've now noitced that they aren't lined up 100% anymore, the left is higher than the right now. But when I put the socket on there, no matter which way I turn, they don't go up or down...any idea?

Alright, I'm hoping someone will read this, but how long do you have to turn before they go up/down? I spent like 3 minutes turning my passenger side (and yes, it was turning, no stripage) and it didn't seem to move much at all.

AKA The gear is turning just fine, really easy and quick, but the headlight doesn't seem to be going up or down.

Did it to mine 2 days ago and it works fine.
Make sure the lights are off and try to do the same amount of turns (you can hear it click when u turn it) on each side. I did about 5 turns at "0", checked it, lights off, turn some more, lights on.

Turn to the right, if u are facing the car. I guess u could say it's "counter clockwise" IF you were facing the actual gear/nut.

Went to level 2, lights on to check level, then off, turn about 3-4 times and found that level 2 is pretty much where level 0 (highest) was at before tweaking. My lights never tried to self-level it self the whole time I was turning the gears. It would only level(move) when u switch to different levels.

Pretty easy.

So will it not work if the lights are on? What happens if you do it with the lights on, cuz that's what I've been doing? Didn't break anything I hope... cuz I've turned it like 5 times in a FULL circle (so like 500 notches) but the lights were on and it didn't do anything, so that would explain it if it won't work with the lights on, self leveling, is that what it is?

with the lights on and the power to the HID motors, you could have striped the gears

the gears were turning just fine and the only damage to the gears was done earlier when I tried to use too small of a torx to turn the gear (I'm only saying this because I have said twice before that I did NOT strip the gears at all)... but thanks for answering my question anyway.

If you have the 03 and 04 adjusting the highlights will suck. One is plastic where the other is metal. You tuen the metal piece to turn the plastic piece. THe plastic one is the one that will adjust the headlights. Metal against plastic is no good. The plastic one will strip. I had to remove the two phillip screw and manually turn the plactic knob to adjust it.

When adjusting I recommend you turn off the light and then adjust. Turn the light on and adjust again if necessary. Don't adjust with the light on.

On the MR I saw both were plastic. MIT finally got smart although why not make both metal.

Good luck.

Save on cost I swapped out my headlight with another member, but his plastic gear was stripped so I'm driving around blinding people and getting high beamed at all the time
