Project: Rebuilding the Salvage Evo

Well I am new to the forum and I thought this would be a good way to introduce myself. I just picked up this Evo on Saturday and I am completely new to them so take it easy on me. I have been wanting to build a turbo car for quite some time. I also have plans of autocrossing/tracking the car so I am going to try to rebuild the car accordingly. Feel free to add your .02!!! I am completely new to Evos and turbos and can use all the help I can get! haha

This car is now for sale! PM if you are interested!

Here is the car as it sits now...

The car is getting dropped off at the frame shop tomorrow to get the body pulled and I have a black fender and salvage yard core support on its way. I plan to get the old one cut off and replaced this weeked.

Keep checking back for updates and new pics. I hope to keep this project moving along quickly.

There is a ton of info on this site. I would recommend searching before asking because the guys will flame you pretty good if ya don't
Also hit up the for sale for body parts! Way cheaper than stock.

Oh and welcome aboard!

Does not look that bad at all, just find a donor front clip...if it can not be straightind. but all in all does not look that bad.

Glad you took her in and try to fix her up. She needs a better home and owner GL with the build. Post some pix up when you are done.

Thanks for all the kind words! There will be plenty of pictures posted.

I guess this would be a good time to start asking for some input. I am trying to decide what route to go with my intercooler and piping. I have been looking at the Injen intake and piping kit and was thinking about picking up a stock intercooler unless an aftermarket one is something that will be beneficial. Any help would be appreciated...

Can't go wrong with an ETS IC. Mine made a big difference on my 8!

do not get the injen, it is the long route piping. Get a short route kit and a mini battery. ETS, NESI are two or the better kits.

Thanks for the input, I didn't think about the longer piping. I need a battery too, so I will get the mini battery instead.

How about the intercooler?

Ok, well based off of everyone's input so far, I have decided to go with the ETS Short Route IC piping with the ETS intake kit and a Synapse BOV that will be VTA with the anti-stall kit.

Any input or criticism is welcome!
