Lots of AWD drive cars tow. A lot of SUV and all Subaru, including my little forester are AWD and can tow. Not saying its good or bad for the Evo. I don;t know. But I know the comment "you can't tow because its AWD" is assinine. Absolutely nothing to do with anything. Maybe other issues, yes. But being AWD has little to do with it.

I really don't see why there would be a problem, unless you tried to tow something too heavy or expect the car to handle well while towing.

 

ask the dealer what they think about tow hitch's...

 

Mitsubishi just informed me that your warranty is voided.

 

I just looked in my manual and it says to not tow anything. there's a silouette with a car with a trailer and a big X over the trailer.

 

hmm...my RX300 could tow but I'll never let my cars tow at all.

 

I am the one with a custom hitch from echardt trailers and it is fine.... Use it for my mountain bikes and such.... they spent a lot of time putting it together and i have no problems so far... jet ski is okay.

Large boat.... you got to be on crack! A little common sense goes a long way. If you drive your evo slow and pretend it is a uhaul you would probably be okay... not a promise but based on my experience so far at 8800 miles with a gt40 turbo etc upgrades i can only tell you for myself- no problems so far.

Warranty? what is that anyway with mitsu. Between the garrett gt40, hard pipe kit, mbc, fuel pump upgrade, avo intercooler and bov and rps clutch with a 8 lb aluminum flywheel, i am not too concerned! Driving a fairly modded evo at 400 whp complete with a hitch and matching recaro baby seat has me have laughing on a consistent basis... sleeeeper

 

Here is a pic... sorry about the dirt but I have been busy putting on the progress sway and testing the car. It actually isn't too bad clean. works great with my custom bike rack too.... beats a yakima or any of those roof racks for running up a canyon with 2 bikes on the car.

I can't wait till we run sol next month... hitch and all and i get to hurt a bunch of porsches' whining about that funny red japanese family compact with a hitch no less that ran them off the track
