The 10's have proven themselves... Do you really want a 4 year old car for only a few thousand less than a brand new one with super low financing? In 4-5 years time with interest they end up costing the same with used car rates.

So now the value is down since people are no longer worried about getting a 10 and not being able to make much power since its no longer an iron block.

Cheers!

Don't count mods either...Mods make the resale value go down to the average consumer. It also narrows the amrket for your buyers...only a select few may take a chance on you 2.3L fire breathing monster with 650 HP.....esp. if you want top dollar for it because you feel jusitifed since you spent 45k on it after buying it for 30k.

I bought mine for 15k+my 04 CBR600rr. It was in the process of being put back together. I took a huge gamble. I bought it with 39k on the clock...the motor has 15k less then that. I've spent about 26k on including the cost of the car and it looks almost exactly how i want it and performs almost exactly how I want it.

All cars have a bottom. RX-7's were less then 10k and recently the prices started going back up a bit. 5th gen honda civic hatchbacks have been 2-3k for the last 10 years. Thats resale value.

And the Supra/RX-7/NSX arguement is stupid. They don;t make those cars. The Evo is still in production as a newer model. I think its held its resale value better then expected to be honest. WRX STi's are cheaper in comparision even though the price is about the same.

It's because of those want to sell it quickly, so they do it for a loss. Then the next guy comes around who wants to sell for top dollar can't because he has to compete with the other guy.

as what it was already said, I think the Evo resale value is still good considering the economy now, especially Evo's that are well maintained, not so high mileage and not heavily modified. But as for me, I am also keeping mine, too much time and effort already given to it.

Exactly, if you buy an evo, you're buying to spend money on it. Don;t expect to get that money back.

I just dont understand How it seems Our Evo's are just Depreicating by the day, Its sad to say but i dont get how Supra's or Fox bodies (as an example) hold a premium dollar and cars that were going for 25k + used 4 years ago Almost BONE stock are now hitting the low 12k range. In the forsale section Its very upsetting.

I know the Economy is hurting, But i just feel there is someting some in some way shape or form we can do to help this before its to late? I don't know just some thoughts. I mean what other car can you hop into with the Amazing things an evo comes with stock Brembos,Enkei wheels, Recaro seats, the list goes on. And they are not even options!!!

Discuss....
Did you buy your Evo used 4 years ago for 25K+ and planning to sell it now?

Yea I am looking currently & am finding a pretty steady range of 03-04 with less than 50k on em still going for 14-16. From what I have found most of the ones going for less have a lot of miles or have been wrecked. Shoot some lots are trying to get 18 for an 03 with 75k so they aren't doing too bad. Personally I wouldn't mind if they dropped a little......just until I find my gem.

But. A Evo really isn't comparable to a Supra. In terms of price. Performance is another story. Supra's retailed for 40's+. Im no supra expert so I could be wrong, But you cant really find a nice condition Evo9 for under 20grand so yeah. Unless the title isn't clean. So yeah. Btw perhaps its a good thing for the guys like me that are looking for a evo8 or 9

I dont see any evo's losing much of their value. I just bought my 06' evo se ssl with 5500 miles on it for 24.5 back in february.. They wanted 28000 so to me that looks like its not losing much value

I just want to buy one, make a few offers on cars on this board perhaps, but you guys over here make new folks like me wait 30 days + 50 posts to even open my mouth in the classified section.
Thats what is killing your sales!

I wasn't able to find exact stuff on the evo, but I found this for IX production numbers.

0358 - Evolution IX RS
3667 - Evolution IX (includes SE editions)
4176 - Evolution IX MR
8201 - Total exported Evolution IX to North America (USA)
Of the 4176 MRs exported to the US, do we have any idea how many came with the appearance package?
