Evo Owners READ!!Why is this HAPPENING??

This is my vent....

I just dont understand How it seems Our Evo's are just Depreicating by the day, Its sad to say but i dont get how Supra's or Fox bodies (as an example) hold a premium dollar and cars that were going for 25k + used 4 years ago Almost BONE stock are now hitting the low 12k range. In the forsale section Its very upsetting.

I know the Economy is hurting, But i just feel there is someting some in some way shape or form we can do to help this before its to late? I don't know just some thoughts. I mean what other car can you hop into with the Amazing things an evo comes with stock Brembos,Enkei wheels, Recaro seats, the list goes on. And they are not even options!!!

Discuss....

I thought that it would have held its value better too. Especially since the dealers were over charging for them when they first came out. I remember trying to buy an MR back in 04' and the dealer wanted 45,000 for it LOL.

I'm glad I waited I got my 04' GSR for $20,000 and it was showroom stock and in mint shape. Its already gone down to like $15,000 and it hasn't been a year yet. I think that the price will level out around 10,000 for awhile though.

Give it time and soon you will see that our cars are more then what it is worth! Its only because they mass produce it. But like I said only time will/can tell for us evo owners. I know how you feel though.

evo is not a supra.. they are still making an evo, but there is no more supras, and they are very rare.. thats why they are expensive.. But I really think that after few years price of evo VII & IX will be higher then what it is now.. because there wont be a lot of evo VIII and IX on the road due to accidents, and lot of them are being used only on track..

Supras values hold because they are rare. Lancer Evolutions are everywhere. They didn't have a limited production or any rare quality. I'm still seeing 03 or 04's going for over 20 almost stock. I don't think they are depreciating that much.

Evos are more common, Supras are not. That's the main reason.

The economy is crap now so people are selling them for what they can get for it not what they want for it. I can list the car for $50,000 doesn't mean thats what someone is willing to pay for it.

its all a function of supply and demand. Supply exceeds demand. Oh, and insurance prices suck...

It happens with every car brand.

When a replacement model comes out, the past one drops in price.

8's and 9's will see that since the X is out.

Now I am seeing X's all over the place..

^ lol. yeah its a hard time to really look at the prices with this economy. People have debt they NEED to pay off so they need to liquefy their assets as quick as possible. Also, even if you don't know cars you see a supra and go "Oh that looks like a fast car" and then compare it to a 4 door evo with a big *** wing..

The only Evos going for 12k are very high millage VIII's. Low millage stock evos still go for 20K+.

For example lots of IX's with ~30k miles are still in the 22-25k price range.

I paid just under 26k for my bone stock IX SE with 10.8k miles a year and a half ago, it sits with some tasteful mods and just over 19k miles now and I am confident I could sell it for at least 25k now, that's hardly a deprecation in my book.
