I'll sell you a stock set of Evo IX cams. They won't fit your VIII but they'll still be better and cheaper

Seriously though, either buy good cams or don't upgrade. A set of used HKS 272 or 280 cams would be about the same price and a way better upgrade.

dont buy them. there horrible. worst cams ever made for the evo. i was able to make more power from my hks 264 cams than i was with my crower 272s. dont do it man. My tuner said any other cam is better than crower

BC went down hill. I believe paul's drag monster (Ifarted2) went through 3 BC engines because they were machined incorrectly all three times. Just do it right the first time, other wise you'll regret in the distant future. "Pay my now or pay me later."

If you really think about it, the couple hundred extra for a better set of cams would save you a lot more down the road.

i would suggest you to get either HKS or Cosworth, both are really good cams and have similar price as well.

There is nothing Brian Crower I would run nor even sell. If they were good once upon a time they certainly arent anymore.

BC springs-

BC cam plot, no changes to boost and both on a dynojet (BC 272s changed to GSC S2 and gained)-

I am sure someone is going to say its because it was more boost (which it was down low) but if you notice the boost plot is identical at peak power. In fact the lower power pull had a scoche more boost.

Paul had nothing but problems with his BC motors and it was the crankshaft/piston combos he got, not the actual machine work. We use the same machine shop to this day and havent had problems like we did with those motors.

That retainer doesn't look right. The retainers I have are a more silver metallic color. Is that even off an evo and if so what was the seat pressure/rpm when it let go? Not defending the part, but anything can break in the right conditions. I have HKS 272s for cams and now the BC valve springs/retainers. So far so good to 8500rpm, but I haven't put that much mileage on them yet. My friend used them in his talon for 2 or 3 years without any issues up to 9500rpm and they are the same part for dsms as they are for evos. I guess there are bad apples in any bunch.

As far as cams go, I have read enough bad posts on them that I wouldn't recommend them.

I could write 5 paragraphs on this...but i wont. I currently run the BC 272 stage 2's in my IX. Now ill say this...they made more power over stock but not by much. Ill be able to tell you the exact difference when I switch out to GSC's in a few weeks. Hit me up with a PM and ill get into more detail if you want. Im always being told they suck ...ill have something to compare them too other than stock in a few weeks. 9 out of 10 people say they stink though.

Apparently Brian Crower is the son and Crower is the dad. As far as whether the parts are the same or not, I am not sure.
