How did you know about the faulty cam sensor? And as some have said, why drive it when you know of the problem?

Like others have said I think someone was beating on your car. Typically that's over reving and it is easy to do on the 4g63. Sorry, but these engines just don't throw a rod for nothing.

What exactly do you suggest we, as EvoM, your cohorts and friends, do for you?

Would you like me to send you money?

Ok. I'll help. Tell your dad's friend to give you the money and order an engine from one of the forsale thread on here.
But once it's back together, don't let him drive it again. And don't drive it at all if the CAM sensor showing some kind of issue. There!
Sorry I can't help you out with the money part.

probly the cam position sensor, just like on buschur's RS. When it goes, its goes intermittently and gives the wrong rpm signal to the ecu, this causes the ECU to refrence the wrong cell in the maps and can cause severe detenation issues.

In buschur's case it lifted the head because the bottom end could handle it, in your case the bottom end couldn't so it broke a rod.

Shoulda towed it to change the sensor.

if the mechanic knew that the cam sensor was going bad he shouldn't have driven it. it is easy to change the sensor.
