Battery Replacement.. opinions OEM style

Hey guys,

My battery is getting weak. But at 192,500 and being a 2003 it's okay,I can deal with it.

I am trying to find out the replacement number and someone said it was a 35.

Also, I want to know if anyone has had luck with either a red top Optima or an interstate.

I can get the interstate for 68.00 since I work at a shop, but figured maybe a red top would be good.

I don't really need the race battery(right now).

Thanks for your help.

I always replace with Optima Red and Yellow tops. Don't be cheap, it's worth it.

As in the factory battery?

It is a group 35 battery. Interstate part number would be MT35

I would go with an Optima though.

Just got the Redtop on my car after a few scary starts on the cold mornings.

Part number is:
35 (8020-164)

Had one on the old DSM and it never let me down.

Just ordered up the Optima Red Top 35 from our battery supplier.

That's a lot of miles. Are you on the stock drivetrain?

Red top. You get what you pay for. I have had one in my other car, and as soon as the battery goes in the Evo I will make the switch. Their cold cranking amps are good and they last under the beating that most put their cars through.

Holy hell that is a lot of miles.
