Yellow top is going to be the best battery replacement.

The 35 was the correct battery. DO Not get an 35-75 or 35R. those terminals are reversed.

Is it JUST the sub? Do you ever happen to run the battery low / dead? If you ever kill your battery from playing music, go with the yellow top 100%. If you are barely pushing any wattage, then a red top should be fine. I found my interstate to be garbage after playing music on it for any period of time with the car being off. It would crank over a lot slower. I was running 600 watt system ... 10" sub and 6 speakers off of the amp.

If you do change your mind and want a small battery, back in my 240 days, I used a miata battery since it was the only oem style batter that would fit after my sr swap. It worked very well.

I actually replaced my stocker with Optima red top this winter.
My car only has 58k miles... but wasn't able to turn the car over when it was -5 windchill.

Redtop = no problem thus far. It's -3 windchill today... started fine.

CCA is what you want to look at if you live in a cold region.

I don't know why everyone thinks Optima is so great, I use to use them, but never had good luck. Now I run Kinetik racing battery and its so much better, I run 1000 watt amp and no dimming whatsoever. I already posted my suggestion a few posts earlier, but nobody seemed interested.

Yellow top is a deep cycle battery. Meaning it can take more abuse than the red top. It can be drained many times and still be recharged. The red top has more cranking amps.

FYI, Optima ret top, from what I remember, is a pound or two lighter than the original battery. I ended up using the Interstate Megatron Plus, MTP-35, which is actually a few pounds heavier than the original. I went with the Interstate because, here in Hawaii, it is always hot, and the Megatron Plus built to withstand high heat (MTP II is better, but they don't make it in our size and/or required dimensions). I also wasn't too sure if the Optima would fit, based on the online dimensions and my own tray measurements. Instead of ordering the Optima and having it not fit, I went with the Interstate. So far, I have completely drained the Interstate battery once (3 times on the original), but have been able to recharge it by jumping it and condition it with the Battery Minder. Now that I know the Red Top will fit, I will most likely try that or look at a Kinetik(previously mentioned). Once I move to a much colder area (soon), we will see how the Interstate holds up.
