Easy Fix? Help

Please Note: Car has engine modifications which voids engine warranty. ** INFO UPDATE 1/19/10 ** This car was originally listed at $24,990. Due to an audible knock from the motor and further inspection, it was found that this car's motor was stroked to a larger displacement. Being that the motor's internals are no longer within Mitsubishi's OEM specifications, the car's motor is not entitled to the original manufacturer's warranty on the motor. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and the currently listed price of $18,990 is not negotiable and we will not be entertaining any lower offers. Ask for Mr. Evo for your best pre-owned car deal!

This is what was said on a 2006 evo ix with 32000 miles on it . What do you guys think. Is it easily fixable

I don't know how they know it's a stroker engine. If it's audible knock it could be something as small as lifter tick or something as big as rod knock.

I'd be willing to bet it's not an east fix, it could be a huge can of worms.

Agreed. A dealership would know the difference between lifter tick and rod knock. If it was an easy fix, they would just fix it and sell the car for what it is worth, not post a HUGE note saying that it's AS IS and they claim no responsibility. I mean come on, they are telling you up front that the warranty won't cover what's wrong with it? That should be a big red flag right there.

I would say get it if you have another engine for it and the experience on changing motors, go ahead

I got info on this car already.. If you bought this, you'd be getting yourself into a whole new world of headches. Put your money and get something from Auto Gallery.
