Just got a 06 RS WW. It's SOOOO nice!

 

anyone have any recoomendation for speakers for the rs? what is the stock speaker size on the front and the back?

dang back in 03 you regular evo viii guys were way of on what the rs is all about lol..

oh well it was entertaining to read the 03 posts but im glad the rs made it and stayed i just got my 06 ix rs about 3 months ago and i love it i wouldnt have it any other way!

my mom even offered to pay the diffrence from the rs to the mr but i still choseto buy the rs on my own! i figured the car was going to get gutted and fly off the track every now and then lol... the mr i belive is more of a car you keep bone stock and keep it for collectability as the top notch evo! the rs is the true race bread evo!

i would never gut and cage an mr only to have it fly off the track and get all beat up lol... its too pretty for that!

for ix RS guys.. do you guys get power side mirrors now?

 

No power mirrors on the IX RS.
Speakers seem to be oversized 6.5" all around (which is 6.75" afaik).
6.5 definitely will not fit right in the rear without an adapter, I found out the hard way.
THe fronts, I did not get the door panels all the way off to confirm the size, but apparently it is 6.75 too.

 

I love my 05 rs and wouldnt have it anyother way. I have a/c though in mine and stereo in it, bought it at 6,000 miles so thanks to whoever owned it before me

 

i love my 04 rs...mine also has a/c and radio w/ speakers....thanks 2 the first owner!

 

dang i bought my 05 rs brand new and it came with a/c :P i think 05 rs comes with a/c from stock.

 

All RS models sold in the US have AC. They're all "pre-wired" for sound too. No power mirrors. No power windows. No power locks. No ABS/EBD. You also get an aluminum roof, teflon coated linkage, a trunk brace, and a 5 speed transmission. I know this has all been covered before, but the newbs don't want to search 57 pages to find it...and I can't blame them.

BTW...I just put power locks in my RS and it's WONDERFULL!!! All of the other stuff I can live without but circling the car to check the locks after I've had people in the car got really old. Next I'll sound deaden the trunk. I've got 50sq/ft of "fatmat" on the way. That should make the car a lot quieter on the freeway.

 

We did power locks/aftermarket alarm combo and aftermarket HU and speakers as well. Yes all RS have AC.

 

hehe, amen... I'm keeping mine pretty much stock. I think the MR is the best "stock trim" Evo you can purchase, both for road racing and for daily driving. Of course if you are going to modify I truly agree that the MR wasn't really the best choice (especially if your mods will mostly be handling mods).

 

Went from 05 SSL to 06 RS and it's grrreat. I sold the 05 in Dec of 05 and got the 06 in Oct of 06. I do miss power locks though....at least for driver's door.

 

i bought a non running 04 WW RS. pretty cheap. cant wait to get her started. and no engine is still intact. already checked. shes gonna live soon

 

Love my RS, one of the best automotive deals in my opinion. I also got speakers and a stock lancer radio head unit installed. Who needs power windows

 

Does the new Evo 9 MR RS come with oil cooler and intercooler spray as standard? cant seem to find this information anywhere...
