Balance shaft removal?
Has anybody ever heard or removed their balance shafts on their evo for horsepower gains, better engine response, more oil capacity.. and so on. My question is would there be any dangers to doing this?
Thanks Kris

Balance shaft removal alone? Don't do it. An eliminator Kit, sure. Removal alone increases the chance of belt and oil pump failures caused by eliminating the support provided by the rear bearing journal.

Get with AMS they have an eliminator kit you NEED. There is no option at all. I warped my long time ago and had mine replaced with the kit. There is actually no danger from going to the kit, but billions of reasons why to do it. there is some power gained maybe like 15hp max, but if the oil pump decided to go, with the kit the engine is likely to be saved. That happened to my motor, when I sold it to another member, he screwed up and caused the motor (oil pump) to blow and the only thing that saved that engine was the elim kit. If its not going bad yet, dont do it lol. It cost me $1800 in parts and labor!
