I agree man, some non car people are always going to say something ignorant, as in uninformed.

My DSM has cams, solid motor mounts and a Whinebro. Some people think its a time bomb. Some people think its cool. Ignore those in the first group.

My mostly stock Evo still gets weird looks from some people, I ignore them too.

 

yeah i have big cams too. it like a lug lug lug sound, i get the same reaction from other people that sit in my car. just tell them that its what racecars sound like cause they also have big cams. you cant get away from that sound. it'll always happen as long as you have cams like those.

 

I know some people who unnecessarily have more lope to their idle because the car isn't tuned 100% for part thottle driveability.

 

my favorite is how many people tell me my car is still running when i walk away from it cause the turbo timer. i just play stupid and act like its never done that before

 

being in Mississippi on my kelford 272's. I get asked all the time if i have a V8. And one guy in overalls walked up to me and asked if i had a MOPAR???? Man i hate the south

 

I love my smooth idle, but cannot wait for the lope. Just something about a low idle lope jumping into RPM's in a heartbeat that is totally wicked...

ever here an aggressive cammed ls1 w/ open exhaust? that sounds unhealthy..but runs like a champ.

clutch/flywheel chatter, gassy smells, fuel pump whines, lumpy idles...all comes with the territory

 

lol you should just say, "nope, it comes stock like this"

 

just tell them you paid $600 to make it sound like that and that lopey sound = more horsepower
