IX carbon SE bumber lip

Was the carbon fiber lip stock on any evos? I am working with my insurance company and a local body shot to fix my front end and they can't find it. I was there when the body shop guy called the mitsu dealer and they couldn't even find an "SE" model.

Thanks for the help!

A carbon fiber front lip was not stock on any of the evo models to my knowledge. You can always contact Russell @ mitsubishiparts.net. He is on here and sells a ton of parts. He would be able to help no problem. His service is top notch! GL!

Ok. They are going to cover it either way. So now I just need to find some after market stuff to show them prices. Mine looks just like http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...=0&page=1#tabs so maybe they will shell out that much and I will just go back to stock.

I'm not going to put a lip back on it. I'm sick of it grinding and it acting like a snow plow.

My car currently has an evo 8 bumper and I was thinkking about changing it back to the 9. Are they direct swaps or do you need new clips and brackets and grills?

To do the swap the proper way I sell the following parts. I have had people buy just bumpers and grilles, only to call me a week later needing more stuff. So I always suggest just getting all the necessary parts the first time and not trying to make it work.

EVO VIII to IX Front Conversion

NEEDED
F Fascia 6400B002WA 1
SE Lip (see note) 6512A149WA 1
SE Lip Lwr Insert 6400B288 1
SE Lip Side Bracket 6512A152 1
SE Lip Side Bracket 6512A151 1
Standard Lip (see note) 6512A046WA 1
Standard Lip Insert 6400A394WA 1
Large Lower Grille (in front of intercooler) 6400A384 1
Large Upper Grille 6402A033 1
Center Grille (thin grille in center) 6400A387 1
Side Grilles (in front intercooler pipes) 6402A032 2
Side Air Inlet Grille - RIGHT 6402A024 1
Air Duct (for above) 6400A390 1
Side Air Inlet Grille - LEFT 6402A023 1
Air Duct (for above) 6400B093 1
Lower Mounting Plate 6402A030 1
Small Center Plugs (round) -LEFT 6400A391BA 1

Side Absorber - LEFT 6400A371 1
Side Absorber - RIGHT 6400A372 1
Center Absorber 6400A370 1
Mitsubishi Diamond Emblem 7415A050 1

OPTIONAL PARTS

License Plate Bracket (see note) 6430A057 1
License Plate Mounting Nuts MU435004 3
License Plate Mounting Screws MS350014 3

MISCELLANEOUS HARDWARE

Grille Clips MR447202 14
Grille Clips MB325298 2
Lwr Rivets 6407A017 as needed
Undertray Clips ("scrivets") MB547806 as needed
Cover to Fender Grommet MR393386 2
Cover to Fender Cap MB814163 2

NOTES
A - Either Lip will work with this bumper. The SE Lip requires the side
brackets and the lower insert for it to mount to the bumper and the
undertray. When replacing the lip please order '18' of 6407A017
"lwr rivets".
B - The License Plate Parts are optional for the customer, but they are
specific to the IX Bumper (they will not work on an VIII Bumper.

Holy crap there is a lot of parts in a bumper lol. After a long talk with the body shop and my insurance company my only option is keeping the evo 8 bumper for now. Someday I'm going to put the right bumper on but I just can't afford it now. Thanks for all the info guys. I will have to bookmark this thread so when I do this later I will have the info.

free to do what you want, but the lip is there for a reason. The smoothness/shape helps "cut" through the air and start guiding the various airstreams starting at the front and flowing around the car. The lower the lip, the less air is allowed to go under your car. Less air under the car = less lift =>more net downforce from all of the other aero components on the car

the oem parts are pretty expensive so you should go aftermarket and the shop should credit you any money that they dont spend (thats in the original estimate) and take it off your deductible. my deductible was a $1000 and i saved $700 for the total amount for parts so i ended up only paying $298 lol. i bought parts off socalevo.net and on here.

brand new hood vent - $298 got it for $60 off a member here. THANKS
brand new side mirrors - $245 each...got em off local forum for $60 bucks.
also credited me for not having to pay for painting the mirrors again since they were still good on the ones i brought in. lol

so with the extra money i was gonna buy some craftsquares but in the end id rather have $700 in my pocket than almost $700 side mirrors. lol
