The Evo VIII BOV starts to leak past 19/20 PSI of boost. It would be a good idea to get one

Ahh, sorry for spamming! I bought a standard MBC from AMS and am having it installed now

If I do purchase a IX bov, would I have to have the car retuned?

Sorry for all the questions

Good call. Even with the advances in the ECU based boost control I feel like a lot of pro tuners aren't using it. Too difficult to dial in and time consuming maybe?

Anyway a MBC is a solid way to go and it super simple to install. Cheap too.

No you don't need a retune for a BOV. Get a boost gauge tho. Make sure no boost leaks and change plugs.

with just those mods, i doubt you'll come near 300 without a MBC. Good Luck, I hope it goes well! They will take care of you.

That information is wrong, if that was true then at peak boost of 19.8lbs stock, I would loose boost. The plastic BOV leaks around 25-26psi. You may not need to upgrade it depending on where they set the boost at, but it would not be a bad idea to just do it, and you will not need a retune just for the bov.

I couldn't get much more than 20psi into mine on a boost leak test. I changed it out for a IX (JDM MR at the time) and it holds 30 fine

I saw it earlier this morning outside with no front end. Said "worlds fastest GT-R" with a 10 second time on it
