Question for those that are vinyl'd

For those that wrapped their Evo 8/9 matte black vinyl...how much wrap is need? The place I'm going to buying it from sells sheets of 51'' x whatever feet and I was wondering how much is needed. Planning on tackling this with a friend, going to do the hood first and just go from there.

Thanks in advance!

Yea those are painted but it's the same thing really...and yes I'm probably going to vinyl it.

Why strip the car and paint it for more when you can vinyl it for less? It costs less for one but the big thing with vinyls is that if you get sick of the matte black, you can just peel it off and the paint is unharmed beneath it. No glue sticking to it or anything...

Here's a vid...hideous rims but that's besides the point.

You can't see why anyone would want to completely change the color of their car for thousands less than it takes to paint it while preserving the factory paint underneath? A vinyl wrap can be done in a couple days and look as good as a factory paintjob. You just have to redo it every 4 - 5 years.

Take a look at this: http://www.themotorreport.com.au/651...black-or-white

Looks good in the pic. I'd have to see it in person a year of so down the line.

Not sure on the cost either but it's not my thing I'd rather paint the car. Call me old school but most of the paint prep I can do myself so it makes it even that much more worthwhile.

Yeah I imagine you'd need a rewrap a little sooner on the front fasccia and maybe the hood, or anywhere you normally get flying debris. It's hard to beat the price for what it is. I'd be interested in how viable it is for areas that have rough winters, etc.
