E85 concerns

E-85 the good = hands down the best fuel to run. race gas power without the high cost.
E-85 the bad = not readily available to most. my closest pump is 71 miles from me. I bought a 275 gallon tank and made a nice filling station in back yard. that solved a couple of problems. no need to worry about content %. and it gave me a tank very close by. but for six months every time i left house i worried if I had enough fuel to get back home. my 13 gallon tank is now a 9 gallon tank because e-85 uses 30% more fuel. 9 gallon tank is really small. On three occasions I almost didnt make it home. On one sunday morning spirited drive I emptied full tank in 100 miles. map switching tune to 93 is not as easy as people make it sound. to do that you have to empty your tank. I had race gas in my tank once. I let gas gauge go to empty before filling with 93. four fill ups later (on 93) people were smelling the my fumes and asking me if i was running race gas. only way to eliminate this content % problem is with content analyzer and an ecu that auto compensates.
conclusion for me. i would never plan to run race gas in any of my street cars. It would be too expensive and far too impractical based on its extreme availability. E-85 lures you in because its cheap. but make no mistake. its race gas by availability standards.
