Its inevitable.......its destiny......LOL. If you own an evo and haven't had to rebuild it....set aside money because it will happen even if you baby the car and never mod it.
im assuming your talking about the TC. well ill get that sheps tranny from this guy then after car is together i need to take a small break from modding lol dumping way to much cash into both these rides ill build the TC stage 3 next year im thinking unless i just feel like doing it or a good deal comes along

You are the exception....not the rule. I'm sure there are others that are on the same OEM clutch as wel land have a crap ton of mileage even but overwhelmingly the majority of stories I see on here or hear about locally....esp. from 2nd hand owners is that the TC/Transmission/Clutch fails.......and its usually a short time after ownership.
lol just because you had to build yours does not mean we will have to lol. im the 3rd owner of mine but i have no ideal it was built before me or not no clue im sure i have some type of aftermarket cams no ideal lol. but im upgrading to sheps ultimate tranny just to be safe so i can drive and shift this car the way its meant to be ill get a TC later if needed.

the reason you hear these stories mostly from 2nd hand owners is because the first owners beat the car to **** and couldn't drive. then they sell it, and the 2nd guy gets burned. That still has nothing to do with the toughness or quality of the car.
these cars are great, and can take just about anything you throw at them. driver error is what kills them.

Its not fear mongering when I've seen the stories on here repeatedly. I prefer to be prepared. I built mine before I drove it not because it needed to be. I had the cash to do it so it made sense.
And we can't see how the previous owner drove or maintained the car and stealerships either don't know or don't care to do their home work. Sad but most of these cars have been modified and there is no telling what condition the drivetrain is in. I like to be prepared. Wife wants an evo next year... I will be setting aside a few grand for transmission/tcase and clutch
