I've had a bad experience with Progressive after my wife was hit. Some loser who was just released for driving without a license for the 3rd time blew a stop sign in his 16 year old GF's mothers truck and hit her in our three week old lexus.

He hit her dead center on the b-post. It buckled the roof, floor, jammed both driver side doors, set off the side and front airbags, picked the car up spun 180 degrees and dropped it about 30' away.

I tried to be reasonable about it. All we wanted was the car to be replaced and keep our same loan. We weren't going to sue or anything like that. They were actually arguing to fix it and arguing her medical bills. It wasn't until we had our lawyer call them 2 months into this that they finally started to work with us.

I hit a yeti cub or anteater or some ****, at 3am in the morning in the middle of god's nowhere on the WV turnpike, on an ironman from Savannah to Cleveland to my grandmothers funeral. Pulled over called Progressive. They came out that morning (Sunday) in their little truck. First thing the guy did was offer his condolences beofre he started taking pictures. Before he left 30 minutes later he had me an appointment at a great shop back in Savannah. They put my front end back to stock and gave me a check to reorder all my Varis front end parts, just gave them invoices and they covered it, shipping and all.

i have progressive i got rear ended by a woman with progressive insurance who was texting. I went to the shop that they recommened. Talked to the guy and worked it out with the insurance and got a jdm rear and ams jdm exhaust about the same price as they quoted me. Needless to say it worked out perfectly.

You get what you paid for from insurance too. I heard Progressive will try and find the cheapest way to pay for damages. Also heard that they'll try to get non OEM parts or recondition parts. A lot of people I talk to said the same thing.

progressive is the only insurance ive ever had. so far they've been good. i got lightly tapped by another guy that also had progressive and they gave me the option to have it fixed or fix it myself. so they gave me 3000. to fix it myself. all i had to do was change the door.

Progressive's been pretty good to me. They do have a satisfaction guarantee, which we had to use on my wife's R32. Got hit by a deer and the local shop did a half-a$$ job fixing the damage and gave us an attitude about it. After several run-arounds with the shop, we used another shop (part of a national chain) to have the issues fixed. Impressively enough, the original shop was removed from Progressive's list of recommended shops. Last year I accidentally dropped a 2x4 onto my Evo ... again, covered by Progressive. No hassles whatsoever.

All i know about progressive is that they always quote me with double the price of what all state and state farm does. But at least is not an unknown insurance company, you should have your car fixed pretty soon without any problems.
