Car Insurance Payments

Hey everyone. Just wondering what people pay for insurance on their evo's. I have an 03 Evo 8. I had 2 total losses in the last 4 years (just bough an evo with worn tires, crashed it into a guard rail 2 weeks later, then hit a pothole in a dark corner at night and flipped my bike into a usps mailbox caused 2 broken collar bones). So 8 points on my record and my insurance went from 2100 a year for an 03 evo to 3400 a year with progressive (2 x 6 month payments of 1700). Im 23 and live in massachusetts. I have no citations, just accidents with no other drivers. Progressive raised my rate 3 months ago just because quote: ...We've readjusted your policy due to our risk insuring you. They said they can keep increasing it legally even if I haven't had an accident lately, trouble is that they are one of the only companies that will insure me. I paid for the car in cash so theres no loan. If your a bad driver dont live here. Just wanted to compare to other drivers if someone might have similar circumstances. I dont want to sell my car, don't think changing to a '90 civic with 300K miles would drop it under 2k a year either.

you wrecked 2 cars and have 8 points on your license and your complaining that your insurance company is raising your rates.....

face it, you are now a risk to any insurance company. your lucky you can even find an insurance company that will insure you with a record like that

That sounds about right. I just turned 20 and bought my evo by myself when I was 19 about 3-4 months ago. I pay 381 a month for full coverage and 380 a month for my car payment. Here is the kicker. I have never gotten a ticket, have 0 points on my license and the only accidents I have ever been in I wasn't even moving. First one I was stopped at stoplight and a car plowed into the car behind me. The car behind me hit my old car (eclipse) and only scraped the bumper. I was in auto body so I fixed it myself. The second one I was in my friends driveway getting ready to leave. My car was parked and my friend backed into my black 3000gt with his lifted explorer. It was pitch black out and raining so I couldn't get to pissed. Tow hitch into my bumper kinda sucked though. I don't even want to hear about high insurance haha. You are going to pay for it with that car anywhere you go and your record doesn't help. Man up and pay it = P.

Evo's are high in insurance just in general, but ur drivin record with the 8 points don't help plus ur age is a big factor also ur still considered a new driver. I just turned 29 a few days ago and im payin $240 (and it just went up $10 cause they said its limited edition) with 2 points with also a van on my policy , b4 the van it was $280 with state farm i haven't find anyone that has cheaper than $180 a month and live in N.Y

ur under 25 and not married (assuming).. garenteed 130-200 a month with a perfect record, depending on the car, and ur in an evo, super high risk, anything around 200 would be normal just about (being under 25 that is).

(i have 2 speeding tickets in the past 3 years)
u really should probably look around.. my 06' f150 i was quoted 280 a month from progressive, state farm and allstate, and i ended up going with esurance(geico and nationwide quoted me the same) for 130 a month
most everyone has always told me, if ur a guy, ur screwed till ur 25.. if ur a guy and not married, ur screwed till your 30. and your also in a high risk vehicle, so u know it will be high either way, but ur screwed to well beyond the normal ranges because of your points and accident record.

Yeah Ill definately check esurance out, a lot of people have been complaining about progressive, raising rates even if your a good driver. Thanks!

My insurance is only 2400 a year for my evo. I'm only 18 but i've never been in any accidents or gotten any tickets. Its so cheap for me because i'm on my parents insurance, but if i was on my own i think i was quoted for like 3600 per year or something crazy like that.
