I got tuned By Chris at AMS today with the new FP Black. All info is in my sig. I only lost about 400rpm in spool since I swapped out my stock 8 turbo. This turbo is sick! The thing has a nice whistle with normal shifting out of boost. And it hits hard
. There was room for more but still on stock internals. My uncorrected numbers were 520Whp and 433Tq. My corrected numbers are in my Sig. Im very happy with it and recommend this turbo to anyone. Time to see what it does at the track. Im going May 7th. Once again thanks to Chris at AMS

You didn't only loose 400rpm in spool man, you cant look at tq or hp figures to find that out, youre comparing a small 16G compressor wheel to a big FP Black compressor wheel, night and day.
You have to look at the boost plot like how you have on the FP Black chart, unfortunately you dont have one in your older sheet.
See how you hit your max boost of 34psi on the Black at about 5200rpm?
Your stock 8 turbo would have hit max boost of 30psi (as you said you ran) at around 3100-3300rpm give or take, but in that range. Your black lost about 2000rpm in spool compared to the Evo8 turbo, not 400rpm. You still make about the same numbers down low compared to the 16G, but the black is a big turbo that moves a lot of air so thats why.

Nice numbers too. I wanted to do a Black but I ordered a Red instead. I woulda been unhappy not being able to really push the Black. Ill be able to push the Red and can always send it in to be made to a black when the time is right.

That was my original plan but then I found out it was $50 cheaper to convert a 9 turbo to a black over the red if both had a upgraded inlet housing.
