The Evo is a crappy family car. 4 doors and a back seat do not make a good family car. Fast performance numbers do not make a good family car.

The Evo reminds a bit of my Pit Bull, Vega. People who know what the Evo is appreciate it, all of the RESPONSIBLE people I know with Pit Bulls would never want any other dog. The Evo has purposeful good looks--pictures don't do it justice, ditto the Pit Bull. Sorry for rambling.

If you were talking about me I was just baggin on most camaro's and mustangs. Everyone thinks because they have a mean sounding car that it is fast and everyone either has a Camaro or Mustang with exhaust and usually that is about it. I owned a SS-Z28 and sold it for an EVO and it was probably one of the best decisions I could of made.

I couldn't agree more.
The best view of the Evo...
The best view of the Evo is from the drivers seat. I don't think I notice much of anything when I slip into the Recaro's and hear the growl. I have never had a car that I felt so connected to. Anyone casting dispersions from the outside just needs to get insde and get in motion.
Bogie: right on with the pitbull comment. I thought that from day one when I got the Evo. Explained it to my wife. Also a Pitbull owner. Ignorant fools always have an ignorant comment to make about the breed , and arguing does no good.... people who REALLY know dogs (like every veterinarian I have ever talked to) know better and think very highly of the breed... they know how good the breed is, that Pitbulls are very special animals when they are part of responsible, loving families (like kidss!). Same exact thing with the Evo... those who KNOW it give it much respect. Young, old, rich, poor... whatever. If they understand and the Evo and know the facts, they give a hell of a lot of respect... even the old guys in the muscle cars or german cars. but the ignorant ones... they are the ones who talk there silly ****, without having a clue.
Its a big F-you to the establishment, the bling-bling-money-is -all -that-matters crowd, the gotta-be-in-fashion fools and the guys trying to outdo the Jone's for who has the most expensive toys. Its got a job to, it does it better than anything else, with no bull****. NO BULL****. The Evo is the ultimate automotive representation of the Good ol' protestant work ethic... the Amish ought to love this car. No bull****. Just gets the job done!

what better words than
"I'm not going to defend the Evo, because I don't have to. After all the mud-slinging stops and the smoke clears, the Lancer Evolution is still at the table, big wing and all. Guess who's coming to dinner."

Had a '00 black SS. Before that I had a '66 426 Coronet. At no point, when I was growing up, did we have less than two camaro's in the garage. I'm a fan of camaro's! I will never buy another one! Mine is tracked twice a month, and is driven to work everyday. I was up with the Porsche owners club with a fellow Evo owner this last weekend (red and yellow..."Ketchup and Mustard"!!), and it was such a trip seeing the porsche owners scratch their heads in amazement after every run session. This group is very safe, and has some unbelievable drivers, but it was funny to watch their driving style completely change as the Evo approached their rear bumpers. The only word to describe this utter FEAR. I don't know if it was fear of being passed in general, or if it was fear of being passed by a car that retails for 1/4 of the price in some cases. Let's just say that there were quite a few tired left arms from point by's those two days! That's why I bought my Evo. Then again I'm a huge fan of irony.
