How Long???

I have religiously changed my oil every 3k miles...I figure i am running synthetic so I am getting close 300 miles over 's recommendation.

What was the longest any of you waited to change your oil?

6.5 to 7k once. i had the mobil one extended performance at the time. i wouldn't wait that long again. i usually do it at 3-5k with an occasional 6k thrown in there. i always use the extended performance so, technically, i'm changing it "early". it shouldn't be too bad unless you beat the **** out of your car or are like 10k over.

Depends on how hard you drive the car. I don't track my car or launch it really...so I tend to push out about 4k miles, then it gets changed, but only with Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic.

If you drive it hard/track it, make sure you change it every 3,000 miles. Also, make sure you only use fully synthetic oil (Owners manual calls for Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic).

you really don't need to change it before 5k miles. the 3k miles thing is a myth. My DD i have gone up to 8500 miles. No issues.

As everyone has said, it depends on what type of driver you are. Do you drive hard? Then change it a little earlier. If you're using full synthetic then changing at 3,000 is a bit early, might as well use regular oil.

I change mine every 3500 miles at most. I try to stay around 3000 at most. When I had my 420A DSM turboed I went most 4500 miles.

I'll keep it around 3k. If i'd really have to push it, 5k at the most. Don't mind since i only pay 20 bucks for an oil change.

I change the oil every 2,700 - 2,800 miles/ 2 months if the car gets raced. if its regular/enthusiastic driving 3,000-3,300/3 months.

I change mine every 3000 miles because I am **** about things like that however I am pretty confident the intervals could be stretched out much longer. Next time you change your oil, send it out to get analyzed and then you will really know the condition.
