gap and plugs are probably your best bet

 

the more and more i look into it, if not the plugs, im thinking its the coils due to an issue i went thru myself

Did you check the coil pack? The way i tested it was by swapping it out with another. If you have a friend with an evo, pull it off and give it a try. It is best to test one, and then check the other testing it one at a time.

When my coil pack went bad, it was just failing at high boost, it would pull timing and EGT's would go sky high. Under low or moderate boost, it ran just fine.

Something else i learned is that a bad coil pack will not throw a check engine light.
