Im thinking about buying an Evo9. SE. Is there any problems that i should look for when looking at the car?? any popular problems that Evo9 SE's have?? for ex, 07 STI are known for having a ringland. is there anything like that with the evo?

the transfer case should not be whining! big issue with the evo8 and 9.

 

try to avoid cars that were modded to hell, but are stock now, that can indicate having an unsoild motor.

 

Check the frame for rust or damage from accidents. Always good to see if the frame and body has been tampered with.

I would try to find one near stock that was owned by someone in their 30's.

 

tranny and transfer case are usually problems on evos

 

there is no "real" issues with the car, check it out just like you would any other car but with a bit more details. Dont worry about the trans or tcase they are built to last and take abuse and offcourse thats if you know how to drive. When buying a car you will notice right away if the trans or tcase or engine is bad, test drive the car and see how it rides....people on the forum make such a big deal of tcase and trans BUT i yet have to have any problems with mine after soooo many launches and drag racing.
