They were on the car when he bought it. I always gave him crap about it. You'll soon realize there is no such thing as RICE in Japan. The S15 had bright blue neon lights everywhere.

Sorry to see/hear, those are all some pretty nice cars. The rx7 and s15 really need a spoiler delete if they get back on the roads though

Got to love the damn Marine Corps! No matter how much good you do, all it takes is one slip up to **** up your whole career. My guess is you're Sgt. or below. SNCO could have gotten that swept under the rug. They are super **** over there on Marines though.

You'd be surprised how many people are influenced. Either way, both cars had been built prior to the purchase. The dude only had the S-15 for 2 weeks prior to accident. He is a douche.

Yesssir! Sgt. It's funny that you say that, because a GySgt just wrecked a GT-R and they didn't even ask questions...

It's ok because I still got this in the US:

The drive involved a 180sx, Silvia S15 Spec-R, Evo 5 (mine) and an RX-7. The first guy lost control of his car due to crappy tires and he crashed into a bunch of trees on the left. The guy in the S15 tried to avoid him by speeding up and swerving around him. Epic fail. He crashed into a guard-rail on the right side of the road. Keep in mind it was dark and there were no street lights. He never even hit his brakes so I couldn't tell that there was anything wrong until I saw the right side of his car. The 1st and 2nd driver had blocked the road so I had to choice but to hit him. The last driver avoided everyone and went off the road into the tree line.

Keep in mind, we're all in the Marine Corps so we were treated like criminals at first because they thought we were racing and driving recklessly; which we weren't. They put me on restriction, impounded my car, took my license and threatened to demote me. After 2 months of investigating we finally get a court date and were found innocent on all charges. However, my command decided their opinion holds more weight than a judge's verdict so I'm still on a curfew, can't regain my license and have to sell the car. They have even given me a deadline.

I have put a lot of time and money into this thing and had plans to bring it back to the States. The damage on mine is minor so I was still had plans to bring it back, but can't. Noone was hurt over this accident, btw.

First off, I'll start by saying that I'm glad no one was hurt, and that everybody is okay. That said, I have to strongly disagree with the parts in bold print above. Somebody's got to say this, but there's no way you can blame all that mess on crappy tires, and say that you weren't driving recklessly, because obviously somebody was. The reason I say this is because if you've got crappy tires, or anything else hampering your driving ability, like low visibility because of lighting, then you adjust your driving style for the conditions. If you have no light, and crappy tires, driving as if it's daylight and your tires are brand new is RECKLESS.

The crappy tires excuse is bs and i'll tell you why. these are the tires I was forced to drive 170 miles on to an autocross, then RACE on because my new tires didn't arrive in time for the event:

the tire on the right was on the front, tire on the left was on the rear.

Not only did I make it to the event, I won 1st in my class, and made the 170 mile trip back home on those tires. The next day I got caught in a monsoon like rain storm so bad that you couldn't see 10 feet in front of the car. I had to drive through these conditions for 40 miles to get to where I was going, and I never once even came close to crashing.

You guys need to be more careful. Sorry if I'm coming off like a dick, but somebody had to say it. Hope you get your car fixed because that thing is gorgeous. Your IX is pretty badass too. later man, and good luck.

Thanks for the lecture, Dad; but you can't compare your conditions/experiences to this. First off, as you can tell the accident happened downhill on a slick road. And roads out here are made out of CORAL. Anyone that lives here can tell you that.

I was not in the first vehicle or couldn't even see it, so I can't tell you what exactly happened. The evidence and verdict has proven this. The only reason I even hit that guy is because my right front tire fell in that ditch and I lost traction.

Sucks to hear about car and worse yet the punishment they dished out. I was hoping you'd be able to get the car back on the road when I first heard about the incident. You have a great car to go back to though. Best of luck.
