If that's the result of not speeding and or driving like a moron, give up your license and ride a bike.

WOW reason the Marine Corps is making you an example is because you are in someone else's country but you are right had this happened in the US would have been totally different.

on the other side of that, it's entirely possible to be within all the posted laws, and still be reckless. if the speed limit is 70, but there's a lot of traffic, or it's raining heavily, or icy, or snowing, or visibility is low for some other reason, even doing 65mph could be reckless. you'd still legally be clear, but driving recklessly none the less.

it's fine if you don't agree with what we are saying, but there's no need for name calling because you sympathize with the OP. I didn't say that I don't speed, or break road laws everytime I get behind the wheel, because I do. But, doing 40mph in a 35mph zone isn't being wreckless even if it is breaking the law. That said, if something were to happen to me while breaking the law, I wouldn't come in here crying about it, and getting mad when people give me ****.

I'd man up and say, yeah, i broke the law...I shouldn't have been doing what I was doing, but I was, and this is what happened because of it...I'm a moron, and this **** sucks. End of story.
Im apparently not the only one "name calling"
I gave my opinion, as did you. I dont care if you disagree, matter of fact you can go **** yourself.

you called anyone who didn't sympathize with the OP a turd because we've got common sense and don't drive our cars through guardrails. In my post I was speaking hypothetically about MYSELF.

nice try though genius.

+1 to everything ODUB says. I've had my fair share of close calls and accidents. Every single one of them that was my fault I fully admit to. Including spinning out and hitting a large rock after going over a curb in the S2000. It was snowy, and it had summer tires on it and I was trying to drive like it was the summer.

There's got to be SOME driver fault here. The cars don't drive themselves, especially not through guard rails.

BUT, I also agree with whoever it was that said the MP is overreacting to this.

I think selling the car is smart. Getting in these kind of accident and declared innocent is really lucky on your side, especially it is the military, there is no screwing around. Ruining a career for a 10 year old car is just not smart, but you have made the right choice. There will only be better toys to play with. Come back to the States and make more money

From looking at his damages and everyone elses, It looks like he drove more responsibly then everyone else. His car isn't even that damaged.

I don't know what he has to man up about. It makes sense, the roads blocked, where do you go? Even if he was spirited driving, seems like he didn't do anything to cause the accident or contribute to it.

I like how people will bash a story and when the OP corrects posts being made, they will pull the "Quit asking for sympathy, crybaby" card.

Just sounds trollish to me.

You just name called for the second time. It's not even worth belittling you.

Doesn't matter how damaged it is, you should never be riding at a distance that wouldn't allow you enough room to react to disaster of other automobiles in front of you. Of course you cant stop an airplane from landing on you... but once you start driving wrecklessly... or see that someone in front of you is doing so... give yourself some room. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if the evo kept extra room considering his damage, just a shame he didn't give that little bit "over-extra" for precaution. I sure as hell would have given that "over-extra" room considering someone in front of me was supposedly on "bad tires" and RWD none-the-less. Be aware of your surroundings... and if you're not... give yourself distance for reaction time. I mean seriously... do we all just blaze down streets we are unfamiliar with? Or drive fast in groups of people we don't know? If you do... that says enough about you right there.

I'm sure the dude didn't want to hurt his evo, who would? Just learn from this experience man. Whether you learned one or two of your friends in front of you were idiots for driving the way they were driving, or that you need to keep more distance, or need to slow down to even "below the speed limit" in unfamiliar territory.
