Please don't return the car to stock. Next thing you know, this car will be listed as a "Stock Evo, never been modified"

Edit: I have the red/black recaro signo 2, its awesome!
So you want be a 60 year old man driving a brand new vette that doesn't have the gull or reflexes to drive it?

I never understood that...

this guy is doing it right

If OP believes it is in his/families best interest to let it go and get another car then that is his decision. He should be happy that he has owned an evo and hopefully has made many good memories with it.

Wasn't making assumptions so much as I was giving different scenarios as to why he is selling the car.

Well for those of us that have been here awhile, we've seen that when someone is getting rid of their Evo because of family it is usually to buy a "more family oriented car"

bingo. Letting somebody(wife family) put thoughts in your head of getting rid of a car for there reasons again there reasons is stupid and if you do it then your loss dont come back. If your going to part ways with your car do it on your terms. If you cant afford it anymore then of course sell it or you wake up and are like man i want a acura tsx im just not feeling this anymore sell the damn thing least it your doing having any other force telling you to parts ways and you doing it is stupid and shows how weak minded you are.

I think the Evo is a great family car. I personally dont use it as one as I am 19, but like someone else said, alot more of a family car than a Mustang or Camaro. Its practical, 4 door, awd, i would keep it and toss a baby seat in it.

The Evo can't save us from every accident but its still a pretty decently safe car all thing considered.
If that's your thoughts about safety, get a bike and give your son a ride in the freeway...you have less chances of getting hit by a mortar or a semi in a bike

Guys guys guys, I didn't start this thread for the purposes of b*tching and moaning about my situation. Im just telling everyone that it was a blast here, and that one day I'll have another evo for a weekend warrior car and I'll be back. Please don't ruin my last memories of this place by picking apart my decision or playing armchair quarterback. I like everyone here, so let's everyone chill, have a corona, and get in some more wrench time whenever we can. Cheers.

You're doing a great sacrifice for the sake of your family by letting the Evo go Good luck on your decision

That is not even close to the same thing , my point is yeah your pilot might be safer then an Evo in certain crashes but if your getting T boned by a larger vechicle at a high rate of speed it will probably not make a difference. There is no sense in letting a few sorted scenarios determine your choice in car. The Evo is far safer then a bike an an accident yet still gives me the feeling of owning a machine I love to call my own and drive.

It's called compromise.

What car are you gonna get?

Can I suggest a new Accord? I just picked one up for a daily, its affordable, comfy and its damn nice to blend in on the road.
