Unhappy The day has finally come...

Well guys, Im getting into family mode and I have to let go of my evo. It kills me to do this because I love my car but my daughter and wife come first. With that said, I'm gonna return the car to stock and sell the parts I have accumulated over the past year and a half.

After racking my brain all day about this decision, I'm going to have me a few coronas at a mexican restaurant with the family. Thank you guys for all the help and advice, hopefully I can make a come back in a few years. I'll have a beer for every one of you guys!

Nothing should come before family. You are making the right choice, even though you may not see it now.

You'll get another one sooner or later.

sorry to hear that but i agree family comes first. oddly enough though thats why my wife had me get the evo, because its more of a family car and safer to drive in the winter than a mustang or such.

I think the evo is a good choice for a family car... But to each their own. A lot of cars in that category (Evo, Sti, Wrx, Mazdaspeed) seem to make good family cars :P.

The evo is our family car also, however i got the car from a guy who's wife just had their first baby. He got rid of the evo to get a family car............. and it goes full circle.

I don't understand what any of this has to do with a car.

I agree, and Evo is a 4 Door family sedan that just happens to be attached to one of the most powerful powerplants around.

I think you should do what you feel is necessary. Family does come first and though the Evo can be used for a family car it is solely your decision. No, this isn't the only option to take but it is one that you have decided. Perhaps one day you will get yourself another Evo and enjoy what it has to offer but until then you and your family need to stay safe and happy. Even though my car is equipped to support a family I also do not think it is suitable for a family car.

That being said.... I would garage the Evo (Weekend Warrior perhaps) and buy another car for the family car.

Take care sir and best wishes for you and your family!

Josh

It's just like any family car around. Just return to stock so it's more "family friendly", but getting rid of it is nuts.

I agree selling the car to buy another one in the future is dumb. Sell it if you have no desire to own one again imo.
