Did you buy one that was evo specific? If you didn't there is your problem. I searched "evo m3 lip" and found a few lips that were evo specific.

There's nothing good available for ct9a trunk spoilers. Rexpeed's stuff is ok at best...type C is so ugly it hurts to look at it, and the other
types require removal of the rear emblem. The newest one is the same as the type 1 but has a little duck bill thingy. There's like 10
different styles available for the X, but only crap for ours. I'm bitter about it...been searching for a suitable lip spoiler for like 4 years now.
Bought a 'carbon print' m3 style spolier off ebay (like i said 49 inch across). Looks ok but since the rest of my car is so clean and has
real carbon, its more of an eye-sore up close.

 

so i bought another lip that i thought would fit an evo 8 but it was even shorter. but i did find out that "racing_festival" can customize the lip for the perfect 49" (even though im sure all the sellers can since all it is, is a piece of black rubber)

just sharing, i was looking around, saw this thread, checked out the lips, saw they had been updated quite a bit so i updated the thread just in case another sad soul gets lost

 

what about a molded lip? either poly or a cf style lip molded to a cf trunk? i think thatd look cool it could be a small lip cause those look nice on the evos or more of a duckbill would work too

Bringing this back from the dead. The lip on ebay is actually 49.5 inches, would that be too long for the trunk? I have included another link for the galant which is supposed to be compatible with the Evo 8/9s

I've been looking for a trunk lip as well. I think 49.5" is too long. If I remember my measurement, the evo trunk is about 48.5" long. There was another trunk lip on ebay that was real carbon and I asked the seller for its dimensions and they said it was 49" but still didn't want to take a chance for a trunk lip not designed for the evo to find out it doesnt fit, lol
