do most people on here with a perrin intake opt to not oil the filter, or just go ahead and lightly oil it? MAF sensors dont like that oil.

I've heard this too, but after doing some searching on the web it appears that this is caused by people over oiling their filters.

Some additional information on the subject:

yes too much oil will hurt the MAF reading. But no oil at all and the filter cant do its job.

This is correct.

Too much oil and itll drip through the filter. Only a small amount of oil is needed. This kind of serves as a glue that traps all the dirt and such.

We have never had a problem with the oil from the KN filters. I could see how a customer oould over oil the filter and throw off the maf reading though. Overall we have had very good luck with KN and use it on all of our products. Evo X, Evo 8/9, Supra, 300zx, Etc.

If you have any other questions, let me know!

Michael
