I actually have a lot of problems with my WW evo 9. I tend to notice people are either very jealous of the evo or think some punk *** kid is driving the car ( tints dont help ). People tend to cut me off and try to mess with me like they are better drivers or something. I drive normal on the streets because I know the evo is a cop attraction and I try to keep my image clean and the evo's image clean.

Like one week after I bought my car this guy in a minivan kept cutting me off and pressing his brakes. So I got pissed and passed this guy and kept going now this fool started to tail gate me and flash his headlights so I said to my wife, alright I had enough of this guy. I stopped the car and the guy stopped behind me and I asked the guy what the **** is your problem. Well he didnt say anything so I just blew him off and started walking towards my car to drive away. Anyways this douche bag gets out of the minivan and digs through his pockets as Im looking at his hand movements he tells me he's an NYPD POLICE officer and starts cursing at me. So I tell him **** you, if you are a cop you have no right to cut me off and flash your lights etc..

Well about 2 minutes into the situation undercover cops just roll by and see us arguing ( I was gonna drop this fool ) they ask what is the problem, my wife yells out and tells the cops this guy threatened my husband that he's a cop etc. The cops ask him are you an NYPD officer he studders and starts lieng that I cut him off and I did this and that. The nice NYPD officers told me get in your car and go home SIR we will take care of this.

Just saying I was surprised that the cops actually took my side even thought they saw the car I was driving.

The Sti hood scoop is an "air intake" to be literal. It's meant to force air into the top mount intercooler. Which is a pretty dumb idea, just like the Rear spoiler that doesn't spoil any air. To be honest though, I absolutely heart, like an Asian kid on a hello kitty lunchbox, the appearance sound and bottom end of an sti.

Whatever its purpose is, it looks awful.

i love the evo but i think the spoiler is pretty riced out lol. same with the sti spolier...but driving an evo and sti without the ricey spoiler kinda defeats the image of the car.

the car to me screams boy-racer. which doesn't really help me since i am a 21 year old asian male. (yes stereotypes are funny, LOL) and i am trying to keep my car as sleeper as possible. cops here are pretty **** sometimes about loud exhausts and ****

I drive a Tarmac black 06 Evo ix with black tints. since evo 8's and 9's are rare in Canada, there are always punk *** kids with slow as cars trying to race you lol

The type criticism I get lately usually revolves around the fact that I'm supposedly doing things the easy way by buying a car with a large aftermarket support, easy to make power with, and supposedly does all my driving for me. I think for a lot of my friends it's just a way to cope with jealousy that they have slow cars with no power and handle like **** though.

Age ain't nothin but a number I'm 30 and have every intention of keeping my EVO for life! And my father (52) is looking to get one as well. A sweet ride is a sweet ride no matter what the haters say. So I'll let em hate and then watch em cry as I fly By!

I'm over 50 and bought my IX SE new in Feb. 07. I knew the day I bought it, what the car was and that it would be staying with me for life. Don't care what other people think of me driving one, most of my friends have Corvettes or some variation of a Hemi. Wow people think 30 is old, I'm 30 in my head and feel young LOL.

What's it been now, 8 years? If people haven't realized by now how serious these cars can be, and the factory potential they possess, they never will. The joke, and ultimate defeat, is clearly on them.

And perhaps I'm part of a minority here, but I think these cars are beautiful, faded Brembos and all.

D-bag i work with asked me what the big red things were on my front wheels " is it a security lock to protect your bronze wheels?" I had to explain to him what brembos were and that they come on porsches etc;

A week later a new coworker starts and he drives the merc Sclass ripoff Huyandai Genesis and they were more impressed with that walking out to it and nodding heads up and down leg humping the owner.

I got in my brembo faded RS and drove off chuckling in amazement

Im 37 and own a modded Trailblazer SS also.

Owned an AMG merc and ill never sell/regret evo.
