turbo drain cloged...

ok i got my engine rebuit due to spun rod bearing. And now im following the "AMS fresh motor startup" guide. Having problems...

I was trying to flush the metal shavings from turbo, so I disconected the drain line and cranked the motor couple times. Oil wont drain... I know that there is pressure in a feed line, because I had it disconected and oil is comming out of it. Should I crank it for longer or what, i dont want to ruin my fresh motor...

Anyone? Any input would be apreciated... Yo think thick 10w40 needs to warm up, so it can drain freely?

Pull it off and look inside. Have you always ran conventional oil?

my motor is fine, if thats what you are reffering to. It got a full rebuild with new oil pump, pistons, rods, bearings all that, and last thing to do if flush the turbo.

I have the oil pressure for sure, cause i have remooved the oil feed line and oil was squirting while cranking it up. But the oil is not comming out from the turbo drain line, its dripping but not flowing. I havnt started the motor yet, just cranked for a fiew seconds couple times with crank sensor disconected.

You might have junk in the feed line, is this on a stock turbo?

Why not buy a new return line so you can be sure there aren't any shavings in it at all and whatever that blockage is won't be going into your motor.

feed and drain lines were both flushed, so its not the issue. I started the motor this morning and oil is comming out, its flowing. Screw AMS guide... it said you need to crank the motor without starting it, and it should drain... I even called them for some input on that, and they dont know... Most of my rebuild items were purchased from them, so I expected some help... Oh well everyhing is looking ok now, thanks for ur help guys

You're welcome buddy, keep an eye on the turbo for the first 100 miles or so.

anyone can give me the idea how much oil should be draining from the drain line? I just want to be sure everything is clean and nothing is clogged in the turbo for the oil to pass through...

so you flushed the feed line and the return line, did you flush the turbo oil passage? Oil should be flowing pretty steady from the outlet if not it's "coked up" that's why the previous poster asked "Have you always ran conventional oil?".

ill post up the video of the oil drain flowing tomorrow for some of you that have looked at theirs to compare with mines. It flows steadily but I want to make sure its not restrictive, it could mess up my new oil pump or blow its gaskets
