key question

key question

I have to valet keys for my car (don't open the truck of glove box). Can I buy a blank key and get it cut for a normal key from any locksmith or do I have to go to mitsubishi?

you would have to go to the dealer bc the key has a immobilizer unless you can have a tuner disable the immobilizer but than you car is more easy to steal

you can buy blank evo keys on ebay with the chip in them, just need to have any locksmith cut them for you.

Yes, most locksmiths can do this also. Although sometimes they want more than a dealer would.

If there is no lock and the turnk can be poped with latch whats the point in wasting money on a Valet key?

I agree 100% I didn't purchase the keys they came with the car it is just a pain to go into the car every time I want to pop the trunk.

Ohh I didnt realize those where the only keys you had lol. I thought you wanted to have some made. If you want a regular key Id just go to the dealer. I mean it's more expensive but atleast you know what your getting.

I seem to have bad luck with copies of keys though.
