This question may have already been covered a hundred times and if it has i apologize, i couldnt find much on it. But is the steering that bad on an evo 8 and 9?

personally I don't think it's so terrible that it'd make you regret buying the car

yes, k turns and u turns require a little more work but it's well beyond manageable

you'll get comfortable with it and used to it in no time

 

Who said a quick steering ratio was a bad thing? Something to get used to, not something you learn to like/live with.

 

Yea,Honestly it's the only thing i hate about the evo myself!!...But one bad thing is easily over taken by 500 good things....Just get use to making three point U-turns like its ur job..I make believe i drive a tractor trailer when making turns LOL...So far so good

I believe he's reffering to the turning circle equal to that of a dump truck. Not the steering ratio. The steering at speed is fantasic, but in tight parking lots, you'd be better of driving a 10 passanger van. It does suck, but it's not something that would keep me from buying the car.

I was never expecting it to be THAT bad, i was just asking for real opinions. It seems like something easy to get used to. I guess in parking lots and tight areas it will be a little bit of a ***** compared to my current 95 bmw 318ti. But how about it speed situations? is the steering nice and responsive? does going in and out of corners, even tight ones make for a difficult challenge and doesnt effect performance compared to other cars? ive already made up my mind on an evo 8. Theres no other car for the price that will offer me what i want, and that is a complete vehicle that i can use for all purposes.

 

The steering while driving is extremely quick and responsive.

What? You're asking about one of the best steering systems ever put in a production automobile. Your initial concern lied with the car's turning radius. As for the rest, c'mon.

2.1 turns lock to lock
