not to try and say anything that anyone above has already covered, but autozone DOES NOT carry evolution lancer thermostats. They do however carry the lancer thermostat that does not work! They carry the lancer thermostat and have it in their system as an evo thermostat which is wrong. Plus the parts they do have are chinese made. Go to mitsuparts.net and you can find the correct part there for decently cheap. Thats where i got mine two months ago and it works like a charm.

Was this confirmed as the right part number for an evo? Or for a regular lancer?

Thanks,
Matt

Just my .02, get the correct one from a dealer. Aftermarket ones, if even correct and a diff temp. You will encounter lack of heat in the winter for the interior compartment.

The Evo OEM thermostat opens at 176 degrees which is about as cool as you can go if you want the heater to work. The trick is finding one anywhere but at the dealer that fits.

Get one from a dealer I went through this I work at advance and crossed the stock part number and it was still wrong. I think it was only like $26 ? Worth it though.

I also have been down this road. It's a dealer only part. Make sure you give them your vin# as well. They usually ask for it for any part you order to make sure it's correct for your car.

NAPA did NOT have it either. It's a lancer only, not evo
