Parts stores usually only stock the lancer tstat which is smaller. You're best bet is to get it from the dealer.

The one from autozon is in fact incorrect. You must go to the dealer. Been down that road. Thermostat was around $40 bucks.

Did they search for the right car? Sounds more like you got a Lancer part. I recommend getting the correct one from mitsubishiparts.net.

Doesn't mean they gave him the right one.

Correct, just trying to give him another option than dealer or having to order one.

My experience is that if one parts house has an incorret listing, they all do. I think they must work off a universal parts list.

So, anyway, the listing for the Evo thermostat is wrong. I had Advance call the home office to see if I could get them to obtain the correct thermostat. No dice.

Yah I think i got one for a regular lancer even though I told them it was for an Eco, they tried to tell me it's the same for all of them. Then when I took out the old one you could clearly tell it was definitely not the same

Parts stores fail in getting the right part number, they presume that the Lancer and the EVO ones are the same part number. Lack of research on their part.

Why do people even still go to Advance? The people that work at every single one that I've been to are complete idiots. NO one goes to Napa for whatever reason.

If it runs cooler, wouldnt that be better? I think some companies make aftermarket thermostats that intentionally open earlier, to keep temps farther down.
