CXracing intercooler?

Anyone uses this intercooler? What is your opinion?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/CXRacing-Intercoo...item3a5c3bc238

My stock IC is somewhat damaged so i'm looking to replace it with something a little better. But i'm not willing to put 1 grand on a greddy or turboxs. So what do you think?

I run one I never had any problems with cooling. All 3 of my friends run their FMIC kit on their S4's and they dont have any problems. Buschur, AMS, ETS all make great IC's and im sure their better than CX but for a budget build or even a small turbo upgrade the CX is great. I prob wouldn't reccomend one for anything close to 500 horse though or road racing for that matter. I have now switched to a Buschur Race because I highly doubht the CX will cool a 6262 . Oh and the fitment is somewhat ehh..

My buddy runs one on his S4 as well but he's not making much power, so for just a stock replacement I would think it would do just fine.

LOL

Heatsoak is primarily the reason why the cheapo IC's aren't good. So on a track it really sucks but even in the summer months you'll notice some loss in power

Alright so i'll just wait and save for a good one. Since i already have injen piping i might go with the injen 3" core IC. Or the ETS 3" if i can use the same piping. Thanks for your help.

Will i see a big lag compared to the stock?

No increase in lag, we have customers who have ran the injen piping kits with our intercooler. The lower pipe is pretty restrictive in the injen setup, but it will work.

I run CXraciong 4" core and 3" piping. I'm not exactly sure how much power i'm putting down at 32psi but I haven't had any issues. The welds on the core are done very nice. Logs show temps are nice and low and it gets the job done well.

I would try the classifieds to find a better core.

I use a cx racing core and piping for my protege speed and it run greats with no heatsoak on these hot days. But its only a 210whp car. For a true car like an Evo, i would rather go with something better than cx racing.

On an evo, I would say definitely spend the money and get a name brand like ETS or AMS. I have this brand of intercooler on my Talon and it does fine, but it won't be as efficient as other brands.
