Not making more than 5psi boost, need help please

I just installed a 3.5" intercooler, and aluminum intake pipe with perrin filter.
Did a boost leak test up to 25 psi, just a slight leak, very small, unoticeable.
I start to drive the car and it's not making the boost it should be making, I hear a very loud hssssh while accelerating, i watch the afr gauge and it goes to 10.0 rich from 3000 rpm and up.
I'm planning to get a tune this week due to the new mods, but what is going on with the boost? It never did this before, and like I said no major boost leak.
I'm thinking the stock bov is not working correctly while driving. not sure, but i'm sure it's installed the correct way.
Can the bigger intercooler make the car feel very laggy and takes a while to build boost, can this be my problem??

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Update: problems resolved. see post 9.

The intercooler won't make the car feel laggy.

My bet would be something is up with your BOV. Maybe its open and not closing properly which would make sense since you hear a loud noise under acceleration.

Is the vacuum line hooked up to the BOV?

yes the vacuum line is hooked up.
It does seem odd for the stock bov to just stop working... and at the same time it holds boost during the boost leak test.

I would also go over the whole install again even though you did a boost leak test.

1) Check t-bolt clamps
2) Check vacuum lines
3) Check boost controller
4) Check to make sure MAF is connected
5) Check to make sure the boost controller is connected to the wastegate correctly

thanks binky, i went through everything, took everything off, put back on, now it's making boost as it should, but it's very laggy, and feels like the car has half the power it had before i installed all these parts. It's still running rich at 10.0 (or richer, who knows, my guage can't display lower than 10.0). I hope a new tune will fix this issue.

Definitely sounds like a boost leak, do a boost leak test.

My car was re-tuned this friday, which solved all problems, thanks to Buschur Racing.
Apparently adding those new parts (intercooler, intake, walbro) messed up the car's tune so bad, that the only way to fix it was a new tune. Btw, my bov was installed correctly, not backwards.
On the first dyno pull, the car only made 203whp (even though it made 304whp before these 3 mods). After the re-tune it made 315.
Also want to mention that i bought some heavy duty clamps from NAPA and replaced the stock clamps on the bov hose connection to the uicp, that's where the boost leak was initially. I have t-bolt clamps everywhere else

reallY? could the new parts really mess it up that much? so all u did was a tune?

Yes, the tune was all that was needed.
the car felt really really slow, and was way too rich, but after the tune, it's running great.

changing parts that incrase the amount of air you can take in and how long it takes to get to the engine will change the way the car runs with out the tune the car is reading one thing and is doing another the ecu need the adjustments to run right.
