Thats cool man, im the same way Except I never felt comfy tuning. I do mount and balance my own tires tho lol.

i think if nothing else you should at least know enough about your car to not get taken advantage of, with this forum as a resource you really have no excuse not too.

For the most part I do try to do all of my own work. I think some things are out of my hands such as a timing belt and alignment but anything I can do I try to.

I do 99.9% of the work myself to both my evo and my 95 talon awd. At least if I screw something up I can only blame myself and learn for next time.

i do all the work on my car with the exception of alignment and things of that nature. the good: the pride you feel when your car feels amazing and theres no one to thank but you. the bad: always wondering wtf that sound is, or when it breaks (it will break) theres no one to point the finger at but you. all and all its a learning experience and i wouldnt have it any other way

I started with basics like oil changes and brakes about 15 years ago. I've worked up to building my own motors and transmissions, designing and fabricating parts and tuning. It's way more satisfying to do your own work if you have the ability to do it right. It's to the point now where my garage has turned into a shop for local Evos. The only thing I don't do is body work.

I do everything myself.. fuel/clutch/bolt ons/ etc. Only thing I don't really like doing is the timing belt.

I try to do as much as i can. If not my mechanic bro or dad helps. I do take pride in working on it but its more impationts than anything. Once i get a part or need something done im all over it. I hate waiting on a shop to do work.

I do all my on work except the machine work & the clutch. the only reason for the clutch is cause Ive never done a clutch on a FWD car so Im kinda iffy on trying it

I've done all the work on my car from changing the fuel pump to replacing the clutch and timing belt

Probably why I'm having issues now LOL!

May have to break down and take it to the stealership if I can't resolve this within the next few months.
