need help with gt35- install problems
Well just to begin with, I decided to put a gt35 turbo on my car because strictly modified had one for a good deal, and its supposed to be a direct bolt on to my ETS turbo kit, so I picked it up and went to work on the car. after I got everything back together today, my car barely idles unlesswhen giving it gas, and white smoke is coming out of the exhaust and in the engine bay near the v band and the hotside, and it smells like fuel. it doesnt sound steady at all as far as running wise, it cams hard, and I cant figure out what the hell is wrong. I know I wasnt extremely detailed but I will edit this and elaborate later, any ideas of what my issue is please let me know
update-
my vacum was 15 when the car was good, now its 10
my afr goes from 15 to 13
I have a coolant leak that im going to fix

I would say give Cisco a call over at Strictly. He is always more than willing to help. Especially if you are a customer of theirs.
It's really hard to tell without seeing it in person. However, my first suggestion would be to check your coolant lines on the turbo.
Did you toss in an aftermarket intake pipe?

Do you have a wideband? Maby you need a tune because you upgraded turbos. Check IC piping for leaks, see if you forgot to hook up any vac lines.
If you have an exhaust leak by the turbo it could throw off the O2 sensors causing inaccurate readings which explains the rough Idle, and extra fuel.

well I did everything strictly modified said I should try and no luck, this makes no sense. i sealed everything the best that it could be and nothing. I put every line hose and screw exactly where it should go, I need someone to chime in with experience in troubleshooting.
How big of a turbo did you upgrade to? Did you just slap on the turbo without a tune? I dont know if thats your problem but it could be.
do you still have an exhaust leak by the hotside or v-band? The gasket could be shot, but can be temp fixed with high temp silicone.
I keep mentioning the exhaust leak because
1. exhaust is escaping through the leak, not making it to the 02 sensors.
2. If there is exhaust leaving before it reaches the O2 sensors, the ECU will think the car is running lean, which then adds fuel.
Unfortunatly, if your car is running rich then black smoke should be comming out the exhaust not white, there will be soot around the muffler on your rear bumper.
Check a plug to see if the gap area is white(lean), normal, or black(rich).
if your AFR is reading what you said it is, 15-13 then I have no idea. I would still suspect the exhaust leaking.

Turbo could be shot, try putting your old turbo back on to see if it still does it. Take it back to Strictly Modified, don't screw someone else over by selling a possible messed up turbo.

well I dont think they would sell me a junk turbo, it has no shaft play and everything is intact, but I understand where your coming from, ill figure something out I guess
Anyways aside from that the car is now fixed! Italianevo8 towed the car up here Monday and we finally got a chance to take a look the car this morning. It turned out to be the maf wires were cut for some odd reason
. Once we re-wired the maf wires the car started right up!
