Unhappy $$$$

giving me an estimate of the price on the EVOVIII sucks... I had thought that i would have saved up a little money for that car... but it seems that if the car really goes for that price then... I will have to wait a while longer before i can get it. ... BOO HOO

31k is actually pretty damn good as far as estimates so far. Many dealerships are already claiming they won't sell for NEAR that. Expected price was just under 30k...the difference (let's say they WOULD have been 29 grand) of 2 grand over 5 years is about 34 dollars a month. I'd be more concerned about insurance costs.

Scares me a lot more than the car payments themself. NYC told me his friend checked the insurance on a WRX for a 21y/o in NY with a perfect record...was something like $7,500 a year. Expect the Evo to be similar.

i hope that when the Evo comes out, it wont share the same fate as the WRX. When the WRX came out, insurance was low because the insurance companies didnt get the car into the system yet.
Then people started crashing the WRX, like a crash every week and insurance jacked up.

The Evo has a lot more power than the WRX and i think the insurance companies will wise up to it. If i were an insurance company, i would certainly increase rates, especially for younger people who are more likely to crash the car.

my dealer told me they'd be selling at MSRP which was near, but under, 30k...
but that was for the base base model.
he said tho, that whatever mitsu said it should cost, they would charge.
31k prolly isn't even a markup. the base model doesn't have the AYC and stuff, which is why it's under 30.

Two side-mount intercoolers will replace the front-mount intercooler to conform to US crash standards.
2 SMICs? I think not, boost will drop too much if there are two ICs.

7500? i dont know about that. When i was 19 turning 20(now 21) i was looking at a prelude SH. I had a couple points on my record and they were asking for 5800. I live in jersey, so of course insurance prices are fecking crazy, but another factor for it being so high, was it being a hot car.

I dont think the Evo will be that much, i really dont. Im banking on 3500-5000 for a 21 year old with a good record.

Also, remember, if you have two cars, put the evo under a leisure vehicle. Hell, a 96 eagle talon would run me 1150 per year. My 95 grand prix runs me 1195 per year...so yes, things to ponder.

There are other ways to reduce the insurance too.(higher deductible, some plans that split the insurance with the more cars you have...etc...etc...)

...everything under my insurance is fully insured.
