Seriously? Is anybody actually reading this? I said multiple times that I put on brand new wheels AND tires that were Road Force balanced.

Again, I posted earlier that I replaced the rear rotors and fronts are freshly cut.
No offense guys, but I'm pretty disappointed here. I've refrained from posting stupid things as to not offend people and waste space. So I post a real issue and I'm doing real work to try and fix it and I ask for advice and all I get is the same posts over and over again about things that I've already done. It seems like nobody on this board knows anything....or if they do, they are obviously not reading this. I also have another thread on here about a door lock issue that not even one person has replied to. This is a sad day.

Nine times out of 10 a vibration on the highway is caused from bad wheel balance or a damaged tire. Even with good tread depth a tire can be bad by having a slipped belt, cupping, flat spotted or damaged side wall. Any one of those issues will cause vibration. New tires and a high speed dynamic balance, NO STATIC BALANCING, will probably cure the problem.

Does anyone have any helpful input?
Could there be something with the steering column or rack or inner tie rods that could cause this issue? A bad bushing maybe?

I had very similar issues with my car, had an alignment done, road force balance ect... two sets of tires. wheel vibrated slightly at 65-75 not bad but ultimately destroyed insides of tire over time. I went to a place in Jamesburg/NJ Platts plus performance. Road force balance and alignment, shake gone vibration gone drives perfect. The guy is a little nutty but car came out great.
zero toe all around, flip the bolts up front for the least amount of camber, rear camber factory spec I forgot to add this, it is what i requested to be done. It is not as aggresive as the factory set up but my car does most of its miles on the highway.

So perhaps the fact that I got my 4 wheel alignment done at Sears has something to do with this? There is a great local shop that does mostly custom muscle cars, but did an excellent job with a 4 wheel alignment on my 2g Talon and it's pretty low to the ground. Maybe I should just take it there.

Well for now I'm taking it back to a local Sears to double check the alignment since I have a 6 month/6,000 mile warranty on it. Maybe that will help.
Otherwise I'm taking it to my high school shop teacher to take a look at with me for free to see if maybe the inner tie rods went bad or something.

I tried going back to Sears yesterday but they didn't have an alignment tech on duty at the moment, so I just left.
The more I think about it though the more I don't think it's the alignment. If the alignment was way off, the shaking/vibrating would be consistent. It is not. Sometimes its worse than other times, and it changes with the speed of the car and not in a linear fashion. Sometimes the car pulls one way or the other, and sometimes it goes perfectly straight. This would lead me to believe there is something loose or broken with the steering system. It could be the inner tie rods or a loose bolt or bad bushing or something. Either way it needs to be inspected and hopefully I can get it up on a lift soon.

All logical lines of thought^ However I experienced the same symptoms as you describe you are having with your car. It turned out to be improper balance and alignment. My car tracked straight as an arrow but still had vibration. It pulled time to time but I attributed it to grooves in road

Interesting...I'm wondering how an improper alignment could cause such inconsistent behavior? I could only imagine it would have the same effects every time the car is driven if the steering system isn't moving.
I feel pretty comfortable ruling out unbalanced wheels because the issue happened with the original wheels/tires before AND after having them re balanced as well as after I put on a brand new set of wheels and tires that were Road Force balanced from TireRack.
I also feel comfortable ruling out outer tie rod ends as I've replaced them twice.
So that leaves a possible bad alignment, inner tie rods, or bad bushing or loose bolt in the steering system. I still plan on having Sears re-check the alignment for free this week. I just have to get there when they have a tech that can use the rack.
