So this may be a dumb question.....but should I pack the inner tie rod boot (rack & pinion boot) with grease? If so what kind? I did some searching and it was inconclusive.
I have had the same problem, ever since hitting a rock that blew out my tire ( didn't see it ) I replaced the outer tie rod end, and the Lower control arm.... New balljoints= less vibration... Got my alignment done today, and it still vibrates just enough to bug the hell out of me, while on the freeway! grrrrr, I'm going to the tire shop tomorrow, to get balanced and rotated again.
p.s. I'm thinking it is my tires, they don't look too well... I wish I knew !

So another day of failure.....
I got two new inner tie rods and boots from AutoZone. They said they are specifically for my car. I took a look at them and they looked about right. So I rented a tie rod tool and did some research into what needs to get done. It wasn't too bad to get the tie rod out, but definitely wasn't easy. So I get one of the new tie rods into the rack and go to put on the tie rod end only to find out it has the wrong thread size!!! The tie rod slides right over the threads. I called the store and it seems they gave me the correct part number according to their system, but this part does not fit my car. I yelled at them for a while and they told me they could refund my money but that's it. So I had to put the old one back in and button up the car.
As a side note however, I did the "wheel shake" test on both front wheels. From top to bottom there is absolutely no wiggle room, so the control arms are good. I did left to right and there was no play, but I was able to move it a little but the steering wheel went with it, so I'm assuming the tie rods are fine. Now I have no more theories. I think I'm going to take it back to TTR and have them take a look.
I also attempted to replace the parts for the parking brake in the driver's side rear wheel, but I couldn't figure out how to put it all together, so I'll have a shop put that together too. So after 4-5 hours of working on the car it's right back to where it was this morning. Stupid cars.

Even though I failed today, I managed to do a write up on how to do this:

I have new ones in the rear and the fronts were recently cut. Maybe the fronts still aren't 100% straight? But I still don't think it's the rotors.

Well driving the car up from south NJ today to work was pretty good. No shakes, no issues, drove just fine.
I guess what I'm starting to notice more is the steering follows the road really well. If I don't have a good grip on the wheel and there is a serious groove in the road, the car will follow it. Other than that it seems fine I guess.

I don't think tire pressure is necessary the cause, more so the fact that they are wider (245/45/17) and very sticky tires. I mean the car stays planted to the road no matter what I do, so i guess its just a tradeoff. Maybe I'll get stock size all-seaons and keep these as a "track/performance" set
The Evo is pretty sensitive to tire pressure. I can tell the difference in about 3 psi difference in the front tires. I like to run the factory spec pressure however on warm to hot days I need to drop the psi 2-3 lbs or the front feels "bouncy". One other thing to consider for the OP is that new tires can be slightly flat spotted and you just need to run them in a bit so they soften up and get round.
